Solid mahogany wood
Unlike other cheap thumb pianos, Donner kalimba is made of solid mahogany wood sound box and carbon steel keys which provide better sound. Each kalimba has been rigorously tuned before packing, to ensure that the sound is as good as a piano.
Tuning a kalimba is basically adjusting the tines so that they sound the exact way they are meant to, depending on what note a tine is designated to play.

2. Tune with harmmer:
Lengthening the tines (from the point where they are held down on the bridge) will lower their pitch, and shortening them will increase their pitch.
